I am trying to flash my LG BP60NB10 and when I have my SDFtool open and ready to choose drive and firmware, then drop down menu of drive will not display my drive. Anyone got any tips for this?
Please and thank you.
Do you have MakeMKV installed and in the default location?
I have MakeMKV set up on my Mac but it's not able to open SDFTool so I used my friends PC to try and upload the software, but he doesn't have MakeMKV downloaded. This is what I see and my Player is connected and being read by the laptop.
SDFFlasher is just a GUI and needs Makemkv to be installed.

Hello. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this stuff, but I have a HTPC (a nuk) hooked to a 4K TV, and I liked the idea of having a reflashed Blu Ray DVD drive hooked up to it to play UHD DVDs vs buy "yet another" DVD player. I found and followed this site for instructions on how to reflash an ASUS BR drive to play UHD content, but am having an issue that I have not seen replicated here -- apologies if it has, and I missed it.

I have a brand new ASUS BW-16D1HT drive that started its short life in a Vantec NST-536S3-BK enclosure. Once I realized that enclosure might not work for flashing (it may not have), I purchased Vantec DX3 NST-540S3-BK enclosure and put the drive in that.

I used the latest SDF tool 1.3.5
I used the "all you need" firmware pack, used the software for ASUS 3.10

Using both an ancient Win10 laptop and my NUC computer, I ran the flash tool as an administrator on drive in the unsupported enclosure:
- Got an error "command produced error code 0x86062900
- Repeated, got no errors

Drive (or computer specifically) will recognize UHD disk titles just as video shows. Both VLC player and MakeMPV says "missing keys, cannot continue" with UHD disks

Installed drive into the new (supported) enclosure, repeated steps, got the same error. This thread says "dont sweat the error code, it happens". Did this twice. Drive plays normal DVDs just fine.

What am I missing? Did I brick the thing? Apologies in advance!

Your drive looks fine.

MakeMKV needs internet access to download the hashed key database for UHD discs. When you try to rip a UHD disc, does the log window say anything about "HK download failed"??

Have you integrated VLC and other players into MakeMKV via preferences?
Cheers :D
