No, not really. But I don't want to destroy my burner either. I'll just install the latest MK 1.04 version for the burner. Thanks for your answer anyway.Coopervid wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 11:37 pmYou take everything for granted, don't you?charly700 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 10:34 pmHello, is there a better firmware for my recorder (UHD friendly, sleep bug)? Edit: I've already read up a lot on the subject, but I haven't really got my head around it. I just wanted to find the best firmware for my burner. But it's difficult on my own.

I'm trying to flash an LG BP60NB10 drive. This is my first attempt at a flash, so go easy on me.
Here's the drive info:
I'm following the steps for Mac. When I tried to flash to the firmware provided in the all-you-need pack, I got this:
After rechecking the guide, I saw that the drive was using encrypted firmware, so I grabbed the MK version but got the same result.
Obviously, I'm missing something. Could someone point me in the right direction?
Here's the drive info:

Solved. For anyone else having the same issue: Just make sure your drive is connected directly to your mac and not a USB bank.zprewitt wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 6:01 pmOop, I forgot to mention that. Important
The latest version as of now (1.17. is unable to flash firmware, at least on linux.
The steps to do this on linux is
1. Install the latest version of makemkv
2. Copy the needed libraries to a temporary dir
3. Uninstall makemkv (E.g sudo pacman -R makemkv)
4. Download makemkv-1.17.6.tar.gz (https://www.makemkv.com/download/old/ma ... 7.6.tar.gz)
5. Extract it to a certain location (for example Downloads):
6. Install it
7. DONE. Flashing should now work again.
In order to install a newer version run

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
I keep trying this and it always gives me the same response when I go to flash:
"Input file not found -- /HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP60NB10-1.02-NM00800-212005070935
Internal error 0x83000001"
I've tried it bothe ways: "enc" and "main"
whats the problem here?
I'm using the LG slim BP60NB10 btw.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Hi, new to this so appologies. Having read most of the guides and the firs5 post i am still missing some basics and want to check what i think is correct. If i purchased a new BDR-XS07TUHD from Amazon this will not work with makemkv as the firmware is going to be unpatchable. Instead I need to find one for sale that’s older. Do these drives ever get patched as in are people working on patching them/finding exploits? Do any new external drives work straight off the shelf

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
No new Pioneer external drives work for UHD at all. They all have post 11/2022 unpatchable firmware. This has been worked on for 2+ years now without success. It's not looking good.spamtom wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 3:33 pmHi, new to this so appologies. The only external drive that still currently works OOTB is the Verbatim 43888 (Pioneer BDR-UD04 version). The Verbatim 43888 (LG BU40N version can be flashed).
Cheers
