If I would get an Notification eMail, I would agree. But I don't. And I'm not able to visit the Forum everyday. I'm only able to keep up with nerdy PC things when my family is away and I have no work to do. Beside the fact, that I don't get what you mean by paying Bill & Ted some money? Is this some kind of inside joke? I'm not that good in the english language to get it. And why are you keep deleting the PMs. I'm lost.
Now which excuse is your next after the PSU and your family? I would have hundreds unread PMs. And there is no Bill and Ted but Billycar11 and MartyMcNuts. So pay your $25 to one of them to get your drive upgraded. I just don't like guys who post and don't show anymore for a long time. That's it.

Go to "User Control Panel" / "Board preferences" / "Edit notification options" for your MakeMKV forum's profile. You can ask the forum to send you an email for certain events.

I recently got the Verbatim Slimline 4k UHD drive (BD-RW BDR-UD03) as well. I tested some stuff and most people said it worked straight out of the box, the only UHD Blu-ray I have to test didn't work. It refuses to read it and says there's no disc inserted. I came upon this thread and hope to flash it back so it is able to rip UHD content.

Drive Information
OS device name: E:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-UD03
Revision: 1.14
Serial number: .................
Firmware date: 2020-06-15
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 68

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8511
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.14
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

The task to flash back the firmware seems daunting, as I have no experience with it and there's a potential to brick the drive. It seems instructions will be provided in PM, if so, please make it as foolproof as possible if it's not too much to ask. Thanks in advance!

Read and executed. Worked without any drama or errors. Drive now identifies as a UD04, and MakeMKV is chewing on a UHD disc on my M2 MacBook Air as I type this. Thanks again.

For those interested, I used a Windows 10 VM running under VMware Fusion on a 2014-vintage Intel Mac mini to flash the drive. Closest thing to a Windows box I have, and it performed admirably.

This was over in a flash (pun definitely intended), thank you! Like the other user said, my drive is also currently chipping away at a UHD Blu-ray without any issues.
For anyone being as hesitant as I was regarding flashing the firmware, don't be, it's genuinely a case of clicking 3 buttons and waiting. Just make sure to thoroughly read the provided tutorial BEFORE even attempting to open the flashing software.

Hello
I have the same problem.
The drive cannot read UHD discs.
I would be very happy about a PM.
Thanks, Mikel
