BD-RE BU40N - OS error

Hello,
I've been able to rip a few blue-rays but suddenly I'm getting these errors. And my pc makes a disconnect and reconnect sound for the device.
Does this mean the device is broken or can this be fixed by re-flashing or something (simple) other.

Thanks in advance! This is my second of this exact same drive now that has this issue. II hope it can be fixed, otherwise I really don't recommend buying the same as it lasts about 1 month / ~40 discs.

How is the drive powered? It seems like it isn't getting enough power.
