Sticker says one thing Circuit board says another

Hello,

I just purchased a couple WH16NS40 and i tried to flash the firmware so i could rip UHD discs. The flasher did not work, gives me a checksum error. i checked the manufacturing date and the sticker says 2023 but the circuit board says 2015. in the forums i read the manufacturing date needs to be 2016 or later. is the date you are referring to the circuit board or the sticker in the top of the drive?

i bought this drive because i have gone through 3 BU40N drives....they are (from my experience) the cheapest, even though half the cost of a WH16NS40, most crappiest drives out there.

Any help on this would be helpful.

The thing on the PCB is just the design date im guessing all have the same date there
I would give up on the LG and Asus drives as long as pioneers are available with old fw there is no point getting those the pioneers are much better see below if your in the USA to get a pioneer
