Lightscribe drives

Post by kapqa »

Hello ,

i am interested in buying a newer Bluray drive, possibly UHD friendly or "friendly/able"

now would like to know if there are any good drives that can also do Lightscribe since i like the ability to write/paint the discs directly.

thank you very much.

well, i think this post has already answered itself,
since there are probably no Bluray Lightscribe Media available /yet,

for DVD i already have a Lightscribe Drive,
thanks.

(there seem to be older Bluray Drives from LG that have Lightscribe, but those probably wont do UHD if they are older than 2015, right?)

According to Wikipedia, "Final release 1.18.27.10 / March 14, 2013; 10 years ago"

It pre-dates BD, and don't expect drives constructed to do it for BD. And no drives means no need for compatible media...

edIT> ok, probably this Lightscribe Technology makes the Bluray last not so long, so not nice,

MDISC then better<

Thread then probably obsolete,
Thanks.

It required disks that were intended to have the back "blasted away", so it was not just the drive that had to be used. I remember someone I knew having one, but they didn't use it much. Can't say what it did for longevity, though.
