Hello,
I'm trying to flash my LG WH16NS40 v 1.05 using the latest SDFtool Flasher. The dropdown doesn't recognize my drive. It shows as installed in the device manager.
Not sure what to do.

Is MakeMKV installed? The tool is a front-end for MakeMKV's native flash tool.

I have the Lg BP50NB40 and I thought I followed the steps correctly by using the SDFtool Flasher to write the BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK. file from the customer firmware pack then to use recovery to the same file. Then to write the BP60NB10 1.00-MK file. Did I miss something? Thank you in Advanced

Yes, you didn't do the recovery process correctly. Also I recommend you use the BU40N 1.00 firmware as it is better than the BP60NB10 firmware.

Select your drive. When you select recovery, in the popup window, select the BP50NB40 firmware you have currently on the drive. Now in the normal firmware dropdown box, select the BU40N 1.00 firmware and press START.

Naver mind, my fault. I didn't installed MKV first as I just saw it on one of the latest messages.. Sorry It's running now No issues.

Before you begin, ensure you have MakeMKV v1.15.2 or greater installed and that the drive is empty and tray closed.

To flash the BP50NB40 SVC:NB52, using the latest SDFtool Flasher, follow the steps below:

1. Flash the drive to BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK.

Now for the cross-flash:

2. Select the RECOVERY option and in the pop up window, select the BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK firmware that you just flashed.
3. Select the BU40N 1.00 firmware in the normal drop box.
4. Click START


If you follow these steps exactly it should work.

So what was your problem? Cause those steps are exactly what is written in the first post of this thread, which is what I have been telling you to follow.

It was installing the DG firmware directly instead of putting the LG 1.03 THEN DG firmware.
