Don't. A revolving disc blows the eye clean enough. If the crystal is suffering from discoloration then you have to replace the entire thing but, don't worry about this either. I don't know if there's a trim pot you can adjust to a certain voltage, but that would be a better bet. There's a little servo you can you test also. If you don't know how to do any of this then you're going to need some datasheets or some reference with acceptable values, both of which I don't have.

I can tell you with 100% confidence I have had drive both pioneer and LG/Asus that would not see UHD disc then cleaning the laser fixed it but actual cleaning not one of those discs with brushes.flojo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 5:35 pmDon't. I take the drive apart and clean it with alcohol.
Just the other day I have a pioneer 209 come in did not see UHD discs after being flashed took it apart cleaned lasers and it did.
It may blow the dust off the discs but it can't clean the disc off gassing residue off.

Do you mean from the disc? I'll have to believe you as I don't know anything specific about optical bluray/uhd besides that the discs are not the same as the "old" polycarbonate and that the drives are seemingly made cheaper than ever. I've yet to open a drive up but, I do have a believed-to-be-dead LG so I'll try a little ethanol and a lab wipe (no q-tips right now).

No meant from the laser I'm sure dust gets blown off the disc too because the drives were dusty inside
