LG BP50NB40 Flashed but UHD discs not read

Post by dustiebin »

Hello

I have just acquired the LG BP50NB40 (NB50 version). Flashed it to 1.03 and noticed it would not read UHD disks.
Found a post mentioning a need to then reflash and then changed the FW to the BP60NB10 but I am still getting no read, well slightly different, MKV just stops and says no disk inserted after about 2 mins of it trying to read the disc.

The FW version in the download zip is 1.02 but in the guide it mentions 1.00.... could that be the issue? and if so is v1.00 available to flash to my drive please?

or is there something else I need to do?

Blurays work fine in the drive, just in case you needed to know.

thanks in advance and if you need more information from me please ask.

After you flashed the second time and got on firmware BP60NB10, did you power cycle the drive?

Also, will it not read any UHD or have you only tried it with one disc?

Hi @dcoke22

thanks for the reply.

I thought I did power cycle the drive but I did stupidly only try one UHD disk

Just put in Avengers End Game and it has been read and now ripping it....

Not sure why I did not try other disks!

thanks again

Don't open makemkv first
First put the disc in and let windows load it in file explorer once the name shows up then open makemkv
Buy a UHD drive from the guide and how to video maker: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 20&t=17831

Just did that with Spiderman and worked as well.

Thanks both

Did you ever get it working? I had the same problem. Two steps I overlooked: Power cycling the drive after flashing, and flashing one more time to the BP60NB10.
