Friendly reminder / teaching opportunity:
I just got my first experience with a disc and a case that were covered with chemical residues. I backed-up both the regular Blu-ray and the UHD Blu-ray after many difficulties but it's only 10 days later that I looked at the resulting files and the logs... I decided to open the case again and it was smudgy everywhere.
AFAIK, ripping dirty discs is bad for a drive's longevity, so don't forget to look at your discs and cases. My case is now drying and I found a use for my old empty jewel cases in the meantime...
For people like me who never experienced that before, try using a simple microfiber cloth (like the ones for glasses). Just slide the cloth from the dirty spot, outwards. I think what matters is that it looks clear... Use your breath if needed.
... ... Now... My drive is throwing a bunch of debug codes... ... Gotta go...
