Is there a reason some 4Ks don't load menus on VLC?

I don't know where the issue lies. I use makemkv latest version (1.18.2) and VLC x64 latest version (3.0.20 Vetinari). Makemkv integration is checked for VLC. I have the latest Java with the old versions JRE 8 and JavaSE 12.
The issue is menus do not play for 4K UHDs. They work in some 4K discs and some blu-ray discs. Its random what it plays and does not play.
For example, "Communion" 1989 bluray disc does not play MENUs. And its a blu-ray.
Secondly, the movie "The Descent" 2005 4K UHD disc does not play MENUs nor does John Carpenters "The Thing" 4k UHD play the MENUs at all.
However majority of blurays and other 4K UHDs play MENUs just fine.
Does anyone know why this is? I tried uninstalling Makemkv and VLC simultaneously and reinstalling them without any hope or answers. Even researching on google and on this forum. Can anyone help with this? Is this error makemkvs or VLCs ?
Errors on these show:
Code: Select all
"Blu-ray error:
Playback with BluRay menus failed"
"Blu-ray error:
Failed to start bluray playback. Please try without menu support.
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'bluray:///E:/'. Check the log for details."
This is driving me insane!!!

I think some menu's are simply more complex and can't be loaded.

Guys theres got to be someone that knows what to do?
So am I stuck for those 4K and Blurays to just ignore? I need to be able to play it on VLC or some program so I know what to re-name the files and extras on the movie. The main movie will be easy to name since its the largest file. But for the extra features and detailed commentary. I won't know what to name them. They''ll just be left un-named with their default "so and so_t01.mkv" since I can't view it on a player (which I thought VLC would take care of) failed.
Should I take this issue to VLC or whats going on ? I get that the menu thing may be complex for some movies. Is there a fix or way around this at all? I'm thinking of wiping out my computer and reinstalling windows because I know there has to be a glitch some where but I can't figure it out. Surely there has to be someone out here that has the same issue? Anyone got John Carpenters The Thing 4K or the Descent movie in 4K that just doesn't load the menus? How am I suppose to name them? I do not own a 4K player that being costly at 200-600 dollars. I just have a pioneer that I got from billycar. The only way around this would be to buy a 4K player at $200-600 which I don't have right now. This is driving me nuts. I never thought menus would not budge when backing up 4k bluray movie and freely being able to organize them. Ughhh!

No there is not a fix. Not all menu's can be played. Try using something else like plex or jriver.
Why do you need menu's? Just play the files themselves then you will know what each of them are.
