Only on my first disc (Royal Tenebaums), but seems to be working so far. As far as I know this is the first UHD release for this (and many other) of the films. Hopefully they all go through. If not, be doing a good deal of emailing files :)

Failed read on the main m2ts file from my BDR-S12U drive. Will try again tomorrow with my LG drive.

Got a few movies to rip. Had encryption issues with Life Aquatic and Darjeeling Limited so far. Once I make my way through the rest I'll try any that had read errors on my LG drive.

All discs ripped but the one. Issues reported by others with the set. Some good, some bad. So getting a replacement disc for mine.

I was also able to rip every disc but one - The Royal Tenenbaums 4K disc. I will be requesting a replacement for that one. Here is how the set layed out for me: https://thediscdb.com/boxset/the-wes-an ... iterion-4k

Having the same trouble with The Royal Tenenbaums. I requested a replacement, but they responded that they haven't heard of any trouble and want more details. How are you folks handling that?

I also got a reply asking me to give them timestamps and what player I am using. Also suggesting I clean the disc and try again. I have never had trouble getting replacements for bad discs in the past. I can't quite tell them that MakeMkv is the program that is having trouble with the disc. I have played through the movie on my Xbox and in VLC on my PC and they both seemed to have made it through but I wasn't watching the whole time so they could have skipped.

I am also not sure what to do next

Just to join in, also failing to rip Tenenbaums here, both with my LG and my Verbatim. Bottle Rocket and Rushmore went fine. Haven't yet tried watching it through my Oppo to see if there's any playback problems...

To follow up on my post from last night - this IS a regular playback issue for me as well. The disc freezes on my Oppo at 35:52, unfreezes and then refreezes at 36:02, then jumps ahead over a minute.

Every disc ripped perfectly for me - except The Grand Budapest Hotel (my personal favorite). I am going to try watching tonight to see what timestamp it hits. I tried it on 4 5.25" drives - 2 LG and 2 ASUS each with different firmware versions.

Aaaand.... a follow up to my follow up. Though cleaning/washing the disc didn't seem to help at first, when I turned the Oppo off and then back on it was able to play normally at the bad spot, and has done so on a few tries since. Maybe some combination of that weird coating some discs have, and the Oppo storing that spot in memory? In any case, I'll give makemkv another try and see if there's any difference...

Any luck getting a replacement for The Royal Tenenbaums 4K from Criterion?

Yes! Criterion has gotten enough reports of issues with the same spot on the disc, that they are doing replacements. I had to send a photo of my disc with my name and date on it and they said I should be getting the replacement in 2-4 weeks. I've heard from others on blu-ray.com that they've already had their replacements sent. :D
