Likely a silly question, what do I need to do utilize the latest Keydb file? Also, how does one access it? looking to make an mkv of the Kill Bill v1 & v2 UHDs as well. Thanks!

MakeMKV has its own built-in key mechanism called Hashed Keys that it downloads on its own, automatically, as needed assuming your computer or ISP isn't blocking the downloads. Read more in the UHD FAQ.

In addition, you can use the keydb.cfg file as well. Read about it here: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=35942&p=162444#p162444

I've tried to rip two different copies of the UHD version also. No luck.
DL'd keydb.cfg, also
K.B. Vol. 2 ripped with no issues. Any ideas how to get K.B. Vol. 1 happening?

Do you have a TGZ dump file for your disk that you could share please, either as an attachment or via a download link? This might allow The Powers That KEYDB to support your disk.

Not sure how. Can you point me to a tutorial, and I'll get it posted right away?

Is there a file called (e.g.) MKB20_v77_Kill_Bill-_Vol_1_ABCD.tgz in MakeMKV's data directory? You can see where MakeMKV's data directory is by looking in MakeMKVs View/Preferences/General menu dialog.

Hmm, this dump file contains much, much less than it should... Is this the only TGZ dump you have?

Yes. This is the first rip I've done since I reloaded Windows and MkMkV. I had the same issues before my reload with this disc.
I also closed the program before I went looking for the file. Does it erase the dump for that particular rip when the program is closed?

Actually, I don't believe that TGZ dump file is intended for calculating decryption keys. The dump for "Kill Bill Vol1" should be called something like MKB20_v77_Kill_Bill-_Vol_1_ABCD.tgz, and if it's not present in the data directory then it's almost certainly because MakeMKV hasn't created it.

Apologies for the delay.
I tried ripping again this morning. This time, I didn't close the program, and I will post what I have here. I'm not sure if it's significantly different, though.
I'm going to post the entire database folder. Maybe it's in there, but I'm not finding it?

You have provided a file called _private_data.tar here. The MKB20_v77_Kill_Bill-_Vol_1_ABCD.tgz file (if it exists) would be in the same directory as _private_data.tar.

A .tar file is a container, like a .zip file. I suspect that you have accidentally "opened" the .tar file and mistaken it for a directory.

What does MakeMKV's log output say?
