All UHD discs, including past successes, end in download error.

Post by Joumae »

I have been getting the Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed error on all my UHD discs, including discs I have successfully ripped in the past.

So far I have:
Checked to ensure Enable Internet Access is checked in Preferences -> General
Reinstalled MakeMKV
Downloaded the lastest sdf.bin file I could find and placed into .MakeMKV/_private_data.tar
Checked my DNS settings and changed my network's DNS server from Quad9, to Cloudflare, to my ISP's just to see if the old adage still held true.

I've seen some posts talking about a crabdance and fairuse domain but one is apparently dead and I don't know the status on the other and those posts are a few years old at this point.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated because the only other thing I can think to try is using a Linux OS instead of Windows.

Use a VPN and ensure MakeMKV runs through it.
Cheers :D

I had the same problem recently when i upgraded my home network (Unifi Dream Machine). There is an option to block the ingoing and outgoing traffic to certain countries.
I had russia in there. When i took it from the blocking list it suddenly worked again. Dont know if that might help.
