Hi Guys, Hope you can help.

I've been using the same drive to rip 4k UHD movies with no issues, however its suddenly not working. It can ready all other DVD / HD Bluray discs fine, just not 4k. It just spins for ages and eventually says "No Disc Inserted".

Would this be a faulty drive or a software issue?

Your firmware is from several years before UHD was a thing. If it were a Pioneer, it MAY have been possible to update it, but an Asus, no. You've got its capabilities already.

The info shows that it has the old, wrong MT1939 drive platform. That drive has never and will never be able to read UHD discs. It simply doesn't have the right hardware in it.
