Batman & Robin UHD MakeMKV Crash

Hi all,
I'm using Windows 11, Make MKV 1.7.8 (also tested with 1.7.6 and the 'about' says 1.7.6 is the latest available even though 1.7.8 is)
I'm using a Pioneer BDR-XD07U 1.03BBDL004035WL I've used it to successfully rip many 4k UHD Blurays with MakeMKV.
this is my first failure.
I'm ripping Batman & Robin, what looks like a Spanish release (although the default language and 7.1 track are all English, it was an Amazon.co.uk purchase and it's not uncommon for me to get a foreign release rather than English).
Barcode shows 420266023544 if anyone is interested.
MakeMKV successfully loads the disk and decrypts it, I see two main tracks of equal size/chapters (annoying when that happens)
When I start the decrypt, I notice the the progress is consistent, but slightly slower than other disks I've ripped (no idea if this has any relevance).
When the rip gets to around.....60-70% of the rip progress MakeMKV errors with 'illegal operation' and terminates.
I went back and re-ripped some existing 4k UHD's make sure MakeMKV and my PC where stable, all the StarWars and StarTrek 4k discs ripped fine, and a few random ones, eg: Highlander and they all ripped fine.
Returning back to try Batman & Robin again, same behaviour, the actual MakeMKV crashes.
any suggestions on how to approach this and get some feedback or bugs into MakeMKV if appropriate
