Weird errors trying to rip custom UHD

Hi, I have two customs UHD with customized, enhanced edited audio. I would like to save the main movie and extras as mkvs and not the full UHD since I don't care for the menus and mkvs are easier to play for me.

But no matter which or the two movies I try to rip, or which extra, I always get these errors:

Code: Select all

I get that "sync issue" messages are not important, but I would like to know why they appear. But what about the "corrupt or invalid" ones?

The process ends fine, but now I wonder if it's something wrong. The isos plays fine and I don't think the isos are badly dumped.

Thanks in advance.

The title is saved, so the errors were worked around.

The "forced subtitle" tracks are always created for each track (one containing "all subtitles", one containing "forced only" subtitles), but are deleted if empty. Sure are a lot of tracks in that disk...

Hi, thanks for the answer!

What about "frames dropped", "overlapping frame" and "corrupt or invalid" messages? What do they mean? Why would show up if the disk is fine? I'm just trying to make sense out of it.

Thanks!

The "AV Sync" messages are adjustments to various tracks to coordinate the video and audio together. These can be common, and there are quite a number of audio tracks on this disk.

"Corrupt or invalid" messages are for a single area of the disk, which had to be retried multiple times to get a good read. It could have become an issue if it had continued to be unreadable, but MakeMKV can be rather persistent at times. The disk may need cleaning to make it read better.

But it is not a disk, but an authored ISO (modified from the original to include customized audio track). So how can it give these kinds of error reading from a file??

Authored ISO is same as a disk, if it's constructed "just like a disk". The video and audio still have sync requirements.

But "corrupt or invalid" messages are not from sync requirements. What else could it be? Surely NOT read errors from the optical drive.

It is very common on LG and Asus drives to produce corrupt results

Sorry but have you read the post? I'm dealing with a file, an iso, not any optical drive. That's why I'm so annoyed with those error messages.

well at some point was it ripped from a disc? with an lg/asus drive
you say its a custom iso how so was it modified to change something in it if so it will always show as corrupt if the hash tables were not updated after the modification

You'd be better off creating your mkv movie from the original disc in MakeMKV then adding your custom audio to the mkv file using mkvtoolnix.

Hash tables not updated, now that makes sense...

I can't do that for now, but as long as you guys assure me that, as long as the process finish there is absolutely zero video/audio/subs corruption or sync issues, then I'm OK with that. Is that the case?

Thanks in advance!

We can't assure you that. You would have to watch the movie and make sure yourself.
