Thanks to you the amazing instructions on this site, I'm able to rip UHDs (after downgrading my LG's firmware to 1.02) but I can't play them in VLC. When I open disc, it crashes after a second before playing anything.

Are you trying to PLAY the DISK through MakeMKV to VLC, or are you trying to play the MKV files in VLC, after they're ripped?

They involve different things.
