FFMPEG Error while ripping Spider-Man 3 4K

Hello, is it normal to get an FFMPEG error while ripping Spider-Man 3 4k? I got the following error:

Code: Select all

FFMPEG_ERROR: FFDEC000: [truehd @ 0x7f287b29b880] No restart header present in substream 1.
This happened multiple times but the rip was successful anyway. Is there still something wrong with the rip or the disc?

Are you asking MakeMKV to do audio conversions as part of the rip, such as to FLAC or AC3?

I've never seen MakeMKV trip an ffmpeg error, but they are possible.

Did you try latest build from Gyan?

https://www.gyan.dev/ffmpeg/builds/

With the possible exception of the Linux version, the ffmpeg libraries are "built in" to MakeMKV, so getting the latest ffmpeg build won't help.

My bad. Didn't know this; thought it was about a process after.
What does MakeMKV use ffmpeg libs for? Demuxing/muxing?

Audio conversions. In this case, it looks like it was trying to extract the lossy AC3 track within the TrueHD track, and got an error in reading the TrueHD track.

Sorry for the late reply. Nope I am just ripping it normally with default settings to an MKV file. My disc for Star Wars Return of the Jedi 4K has the same issue. The file seems fine so was just curious what the error was. Is the disc not following the truehd spec?
