Hi Guys,
i have a problem while trying to play ripped UHD's from Paramount Pictures, i saw this on Juice, Escape from LA and now on Shooter.
Playback freezes after Paramount logo on VLC and DVDFab player, PowerDVD is unable to run at all - This is on Juice and Escape From LA.
On Shooter VLC hangs when trying to load Menu, FAB player is stuck after first few screens with infos about compatible screen. PowerDVD is still black.
Is there a new copy protection on Paramount Discs, after they've changed the menu structure?

Ok, so maybe my english sucks a bit.
Playback without menu works, but what's the point to create a copy of a disc, if You're unable to use 100% of it?
if "stucks" doesn't exist, maybe hangs will be a better choice.

The point isn't to create a copy of a disc. Disc copies are so 2008..... LOL. Most people simply don't do that these days. The main movie is what the majority want so they rip the movie to a MKV file and store on a hard drive or NAS.
Cheers

Sorry to bump an old thread. But, I can confirm that turning off Blu ray menus in VLC is a workaround. That is, if you still want to play from a disc. Go to "Tools > Preferences > Show All > Access Modules > Type in 'blu' in Search Box > Uncheck 'Blu Ray Menus' box > Restart movie." Hope this helps.
