4k uhd rip quality

i just ripped 4k the hunger games lionsgate movie but it seems 60 % of movie is grainy. is it normal?
How sensitive are you to film grain? According to the above linked review, the 4K release is an upscale from the 2K digital intermediate, which means you get to see everything in as good of detail as possible (until the inevitable rescan of the negatives one day).This was shot on good old fashioned 35mm film…

MakeMKV isn't changing anything, just copying the bits off the disc. Your TV or player might be trying to do things… personally, I turn all that stuff off; it only makes things worse in my eyes.
