Streaming issues

Hi folks, I'm new to 4k ripping but have been ripping and streaming dvd's for years. So, I've successfully ripped several 4k discs using one of asmcom's most excellent drives and the problem I'm having is streaming the mkv from my pc to my tv. What happens is that the movies keep pausing and/or stopping altogether. When they stop, the tv reverts back to the streamer menu.
I have been using Universal Media Server to stream dvd mkv's to my tv without any problems.
I have tried streaming from both a usb ssd and an internal ssd but the result is the same.
My pc is using an AMD Ryzen 5 3550 and 16Gb RAM. My network is Gigabit cabled.
I'm guessing there's a bottleneck somewhere which is causing the stuttering and stopping.
Would appreciate any assistance that can be given.
