There are 2 playlists on the 4k disk. 800.mpls and 801.mpls. I am assuming one is for Dolby vision and one is for HDR10+??

More likely, 00800 is the English version, and 00801 is either French or Spanish. Should only be two segments different between them.

Running

Code: Select all

mpls_dump
on the two files indicates they both point to the same

Code: Select all

.m2ts
file, though the files are very different sizes.

Code: Select all

eac3to
only shows the

Code: Select all

00800.mpls
file (and

Code: Select all

00201.mpls
, which points to

Code: Select all

00002.m2ts
).

Looking at verbose output, it looks like

Code: Select all

00801.mpls
maps out a bunch of non-English (and Japanese?) audio and PGS streams. The chapter maps appear to be the same though, so... yeah, I'm not sure why it does that.

You can use bdinfo to check the differences in mpls files. Streams marked with * are not available in the specific mpls.
MakeMKV disables the * streams automatically. i.e If you choose an mpls that has certain streams disabled, they will not be available to mux.
