4K and HDCP 2.2

Hi all,
If you rip a 4k disk using Makemkv, does it remove the need to have a complete HDMI HDCP 2.2 chain when playing back?
The reason I ask is that my HTPC is Kaby Lake i3 but it only has HDMI 1.4.
