Can I just use tsmuxerGui to add the movie.hevc as the first track.
And then open the main playlist from the original bluray disc and add the TrueHD+ac3 core audio as second track.
Then just mux both tracks into a m2ts container.
yes thats how you do it.
Thats the strange thing, I just tested it with 1917 on my LG C8 in m2ts format.
Both Plex and Emby let me select between TrueHD and ac3 5.1.
I know the LG C8 doesn't support TrueHD, but when I select ac3 5.1 all audio seems silent in both players.

Could it be that some movies carry an empty ac3 track?

Yes working again but not P7 as you said.
Curious because before, everything was working perfectly, including P7 as I said a few posts before.
I doubt it was actually converting, maybe you were just playing MEL files.

I could be wrong but IIRC my C8 cannot even play the ac3 core of TrueHD for a DV TS/M2ts.
you should convert TrueHD/DTS to EAC3. 6-3-4 in my script.

since most movies have l2 trim passes, not much difference. The problem seem to be with L1 high max_pq values that have no effect.
Okay cool. Good to know.
I am still curious what your personal preference is between internal and x800. If you don't mind sharing!

I would love to test a 64 bit build! I'm not sure if its because the Shield isn't compatible with this version, but when I install the Plex addon I just get an endless loading bar with the Plex logo
I've made new builds available here: https://github.com/quietvoid/xbmc/releases/tag/v21-dovi
There are both 32 bits and 64 bits APKs.

The only change from the last build is that the new build also fixes grey letterbox bars when playing cropped Dolby Vision videos for FireTV.

Info thread: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=371557
Where are the previous builds?
Cheers :D

Which builds? The one from 2021-01-23? It was replaced.
I'm not keeping multiple builds up on there.

The version before the current one as from the previous few posts it seems the new version doesn't work very well.

There's no difference except that it doesn't crash.
I don't have the previous version anymore.

thanks for the reply @RESET_9999.
i'll check out the mp4 workflow.
TS/M2ts container is not letting me FF/RW at all. Jellyfin just freezes, the webos player says "function not available right now". is there a particular tsmuxer version that needs to be used?
then it's a jellyfin bug because you can FF/RW on the plex app with TS/m2ts files.
can you please confirm if you can FF/RW on the WebOS media player app with TS/m2ts files?

Hi all, I'll launch a question to @RESET_9999 and every other member of this forum.

There's a guy in other forum of my country where I'm in who claims that the FireTV Stick 4K (2018 version) can now playback Dolby Vision FEL titles.
As far as I know there's no FireTV that could playback FEL files using the EL layer. From what I have guessed and taking into account that the guy is basing his claim on viewings with naked eye, this device is playing FEL titles as MEL (without using EL layer), what already has a great quality as is.

Could anybody confirm or deny this statement?

Thanks!

I just tested my C8 with DV TS files and I can confirm that FF/RW works on both PLEX and webOS app.
the file i tried had closed gop though

He's probably talking about quietvoid's new kodi build that can play P7 as P8. Read just a couple comments above.

My 2018 4K stick hasn't been updated in years but it never could play FEL, blank screen.
The 2021 4K Max behaves the same, with latest firmware.

Thanks! You said that you don't use Plex for Kodi - what do you generally use to playback Dolby Vision files on Kodi?
