I uploaded a good mp4 version from your HLG test file: https://1drv.ms/v/s!Ahh4FiB9hIuT-EK3sg5 ... j?e=RKiQG4
Interestingly, neither Apple TV 4K 2021 nor Dune Real Vision 4K handles RPU from the 8.4 file, only Shield.
I made a capture from my Shield: https://1drv.ms/v/s!Ahh4FiB9hIuT-EPZwIY ... Y?e=8CekDj

Hi,
Not exactly what you asked but I just quickly added a workflow that can mux dual lossy audio + sub ( I may add lossless audio support in the future).

MODE.M4 ---> MODE.1 ---> Workflow.2

Reason for this is that DD+ doesn't work over ARC in some cases due to bandwidth limitations.
DD+ 1536kbps works via ARC on my C8
Thanks, I'll give it a shot :)
But DD+ doesn't work over optical out.
That's why a regular AC3 track as the first one would be nice and a second higher quality DD+ one for the ones who can output that over ARC.
I always get drop-outs every few seconds when outputting DD+ over ARC from my C8 to my Denon receiver.

thanks, but the problem is that the rpu itself is not really profile 8.4: only the container is. We need a real profile 8.4 file and delay the rpu. Iphone recordings are not dynamic I think, so it wouldnt work.

Dune: that doesnt surprise me and it's exactly the reason why I sold my Zidoo: those devices don't like profile 8 and often ignore the RPU or go out of sync in the middle of a movie. I could not trust it anymore.

yep, I do get audio drop out too with DD+ in a mp4 container but not in a TS container.

Should be simple to make. Apple uses a static reshaping for HLG to PQ in iPhone recordings.
I would assume they are limited to 1000 nits.

Would need people to test on the Apple TV 4K though, since it supports profile 8.4.

I have an Apple TV 4K 2021 and an iPhone 12 Pro Max, so I can help.

I don't have an ATV4k anymore nor an iPhone but it would be nice to have a true p8.4 test file(only thing missing in my test files).

I and a friend of mine have tested the file on these devices:
Sony X700 and X800m2 does not trigger DV but Sdr
Dune Real Vision 4K triggers DV with internal player
Firestick 4k max triggers Dv using kodi.
ATV 4k triggers sdr both with infuse and plex.
Tv's are Lg C8 and Lg Cx.

remux it to TS and it will work. The MP4 version in my dovi test files GD folder should work as well.

You are right. remuxed in ts it works. And it works also in ATV 4K via plex. Thanks.

Any review on the Dune HD Real Vision 4k? Is it a good alternative to the sony x700 when it comes to playing dolby vision files?

Hi i tried your mp4 HLG
HLG test file: https://1drv.ms/v/s!Ahh4FiB9hIuT-EK3sg5 ... j?e=RKiQG4
This is Dolby Vision detected on my tv when using mp4. Version 1.0, dvhe.08.07, BL+RPU, HLG compatible
Using ts4muxer, ts version remux. i got HLG only. Dolby vision logo not appear.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention: The HLG test file = The Rpu and the video mismatch.
Image

i cant got DV working using tsmuxer. Do you have any DV reported working ts to test?
With tsmuxer also i cant get mux DV 5 profile. The mkv with wrong color and the mp4 DV with DV logo on and correct color.
https://www.mediafire.com/file/pw2s63yy ... e.mkv/file
https://www.mediafire.com/file/dj1hifc4 ... e.mp4/file

The mux for other samples with ts, also get jitter.
this

For now on, i still use mp4muxer for Atmos / DV titles.
The problem the mp4muxer dolby cannot insert delay audio if there is, unlike other muxer has -delay option
The srt substitle also cant get muxed into, unlike m4v subler for mac or old mp4box with yamb.

check the spreadsheet in my signature.

*** I think I found an issue with the x800m2:

1- DTS-HD 2.0 plays only as lossy DTS (core)
2- DTS-HD 7.1 seems to always be out of sync about 2 frames (83MS) but strangely DTS-HD 5.1 is fine.
Thanks! That's helpful. Any idea whether those also happen with the x700? Any chance it could be worked around by flagging 2.0 and 7.1 streams as 5.1 in the transport stream?

How likely am I to notice an issue playing back FEL Blu-rays with the Dune HD Real Vision 4k? Will I see the flickering issue with movies like Saving Private Ryan, or will I just be missing out on a bit of detail?

Just got the x700 today. Notice one issue: when I start playing a dolby vision file from an external hdd connected to the x700, the tv goes blank and shows no signal for a few seconds before the film actually start playing. Any fix for that? My TV is LG OLED C9.
