When this happens, the drive makes a sound like it just tried loading the disc again, and then goes quiet, and remains unresponsive - MakeMKV will not see any disc in the drive, and the OS won't be able to read from the drive at all, until I re-insert it or restart the computer. The OS in question is Linux Mint, while the drive is ASUS BW-16D1HT. I have flashed firmware on it to allow for ripping 4Ks, and again, it worked fine, and this disc specifically worked fine. Two days ago I also ripped the Godfather trilogy on 4K and those ripped just fine. I have tried using MakeMKV on Windows, and it gives the same error in the same spot. I do not have another copy of the same disc, and I do not have another drive to try ripping with.
If I try making a disk backup with MakeMKV, it skips over the file, saying it fails the hash check. If I try playing the movie with VLC or MPV in Windows (thus using MakeMKV for decrypting), both players completely crash. If I use VLC on Linux (hence a different method of decrypting), it halts for a good 4-5 seconds but eventually resumes playback. I tried switching to DVDFab for ripping but it's telling me the process will take 4 hours, and I don't feel like it just to get told 3 hours in that the same error occurs. I tried using ddrescue on the drive. It slowed down in a couple places, but eventually reached a spot where it completely exited with an error:

So... any ideas what I could do to make it work? This would be the first disc in my Blu-Ray/4K collection to become damaged beyond ripping, which sucks because it is also the most expensive disc I've ever purchased. Worse still, it looks absolutely pristine on the back, I tried cleaning it with microfibre and cannot find a single scratch or damage to it, which makes sense considering I only took it out of the case maybe 4 times total.
