Re: Dump submitted - The Nice Guys - UK
I normally rip with a Pioneer BDR-S12U which was giving me the key unknown and resulting dump. At whim, I've just dug my old BU40N our of mothballs, and the disc is decrypting fine using this drive? If it's a missing key, what difference would the drive make?
Apologies if this is well known as I've been rather out of the loop for a number of months.

Did you happen to save the log file or note the exact error message from your Pioneer attempt? When LibreDrive fails to activate it can produce error messages that reference key errors. These particular errors/keys are distinct from the title specific keys provided via the public keydb or native MakeMKV hashed key files.mwebb wrote: ↑Fri Sep 05, 2025 8:30 pmI normally rip with a Pioneer BDR-S12U which was giving me the key unknown and resulting dump. When LibreDrive is working properly on a UHD compatible drive you can use it to decrypt and backup any disc with known title keys. There are no differences or distinctions between LG and Pioneer drives in this regard.
Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
- LG/Buffalo/Asus drives only (Pioneer drives are not supported)
- Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
- If your disc dump is under 3MB, you need to manually include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder
