Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? i've flashed the drive and everything seems to be right, but all that happens when i insert an uhd disc is it attempts to read for a few minutes and then says "no disc inserted".

Just the one disk, or all disks? You don't say, and some disks can have issues.

You haven't flashed it correctly. You have only done half the job. The first flash get's you to BP50NB40 1.03-MK. This is not UHD compatible. You must now do the cross-flash to enable UHD ripping. BU40N 1.00 is recommended.
