UHD rips failing

Post by wasteram »

Using MakeMKV 1.18.3 Beta, seems I am unable to rip any UHD discs. I've tried three so far, including one I ripped previously with the same hardware. Bluray rips OK.

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BU40N
Revision: 1.03
Serial number: ************
Firmware date: 2118-10-24 19:34
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 82

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 1.03
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

Disc Information
Label: CLOSE_ENCOUNTERS_OF_3RD_KIND
Timestamp: 2017-08-09 23:39:51
Protection: AACS2.0/C v61
Data capacity: 93.21 Gb
Disc type: BD-ROM UHD
Number of layers: 3
Bus encryption flags: 80
...this disc was ripped before.
Log output:
MakeMKV v1.18.3 win(x64-release) started
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.

Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive
Saved AACS dump file as C:/Users/j/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v61_Close_Encounters_of_the_Third_Kind_40th_Anniversary_Edition_5FB5.tgz
LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
Failed to open disc

I have a KEYDB.cfg downloaded today. If drive is in LibreDrive mode the AACS host certificate should not be revokable, correct?
I can send the dump files if that is helpful, but at least one of the problem discs is already in the KEYDB.cfg.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Sometimes it says libredrive is enabled even though it actually isn't or didn't start libredrive mode correctly. Try powering off the drive and/or PC for a minute or two before turning it back on.

When libredrive is functioning correctly, any certificate revocation is ignored. It can still be revoked but MakeMKV doesn't care.
Cheers :D
