My UK purchased disk has got two playlists. I expect that this is the correct one:
Title information
Name: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Source file name: 00800.mpls
Duration: 1:53:03
Chapters count: 17
Size: 52.2 GB
Segment count: 17
Segment map: 7,18,67,101,69,70,71,72,73,74,75,76,77,78,83,79,84
File name: Star Trek II- The Wrath of Khan_t02.mkv
There is also this one with a slightly longer run time, but a totally different segment map:
Title information
Name: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Source file name: 00801.mpls
Duration: 1:56:31
Chapters count: 17
Size: 53.8 GB
Segment count: 17
Segment map: 7,80,67,148,69,85,71,86,73,87,75,88,77,89,83,90,84
File name: Star Trek II- The Wrath of Khan_t01.mkv
Any ideas appreciated.

Re: Star Trek: Wrath of Khan correct playlist
That particular release contains both the theatrical and director's cut versions of the film. That is the reason for two playlist .

Re: Star Trek: Wrath of Khan correct playlist
I have to chime in here: that doesn't seem right. This is the UHD section. I don't think both versions are on the UHD. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Star Trek: Wrath of Khan correct playlist
Thanks both. It is indeed the UHD disc.
It looks as though the Director's Cut is about 3.5-4 minutes longer than theatrical so that could well be it.

Re: Star Trek: Wrath of Khan correct playlist
I don't have the UHD of this movie, but probably both versions are on the disc. UHDs like regular blu-rays have a thing called seamless branching. In simplified terms, a title (embodied in a .mpls file) is a playlist of segments. In the simplest case, there is 1 segment that is the whole movie. In the case of a theatrical version vs. a director's cut, the movie segments are usually at the boundaries of the differences between the films. So, the parts that are the same in both versions are only on the disc once. The player seamlessly goes from the end of one segment into the next.
In the segment maps listed above, you can see that both titles start with segment 7. If you were to make a decrypted backup of the disc and look in the BDMV/STREAM folder, you'd find a file named 00007.m2ts. If you were to play it with VLC or MPV, it'd be the opening of the movie. If it was a Star Wars movie with multiple languages of the opening scroll on the same disc, the first segment is probably different. You can tell which title is which language by playing the first segment (assuming you've made a decrypted backup) in your favorite player.

Both versions of the movie are on UHD BD disc via seamless branching.

Re: Star Trek: Wrath of Khan correct playlist
Here is how I mapped out the Wrath of Khan UHD disc from the US set: https://thediscdb.com/boxset/2021-origi ... 4k/discs/2 I opted for the longer version and when I watched the movie it seemed correct to me.
