Issue reading Halloween 4k
Issue reading Halloween 4k
I can’t get past 70% ripping because it says bad sectors trying to bypass and then fails time and time again, I would to know if there is an option in makemkv to skip or ignore bad sectors? Let’s say 1% of the disc is corrupt then all your loosing is some extras so why can’t these sectors just be skipped
Re: Issue reading Halloween 4k
I ripped the iso of it and loaded the iso in make mkv and I get the same bad sector error, I okay the iso back on VLC player and the full movie is there and plays back just fine so why won’t make rip the 4K iso of Halloween either?
Re: Issue reading Halloween 4k
There isn't really a way to get MakeMKV to skip errors. The goal is for a 1:1 copy of the disc. Most players are designed to blow past any bad sectors and hope that the lost data isn't very noticeable on screen. MakeMKV is trying to correctly read every bit of the movie you're trying to rip. Consequently, the common suggestion is to gently clean the disc and try again.
Also, if the drive is struggling to correctly read the disc when you're creating an ISO from the disc, those errors will propagate through the ISO and be noticed by MakeMKV.
