Cross flashing a LG16NS60 to BU40N

Post by Procat »

I tried flashing the LG16NS60 to a BU40N using the ASUS modified flasher and DE_BU40N_1.00.bin to no avail.
It reports failure #5. Is it possible to do this, if so how? I have an extra LG16NS60, and thought it would be nice to have an alternate drive.
Thanks for any help.

Isn't the bu40n a slim drive? If so, please don't do that. I'm not positive but I believe flashing desktop dive firmware to a slim drive can brick it. That would be very unfortunate. Some of the other guys will hopefully chime in that know more than I do on this subject but please don't do this until it's confirmed that it's safe to do so. I don't believe it is.

The UHD drive section at viewforum.php?f=16 is also probably a better forum for this question.

Will take your advice and won’t do it, thank you for responding.
