Burning BDXL discs - Quality issues on Panasonic udp900

Post by shishykish »

Hi,

I running out of hdd space and need to archive some movies. I have tried verbatim discs, but whenever I use them on my udp900 player which has been jailbroken, I get loads of artifacts on screen. I burnt them with a pioneer bdr-512u on 2x speed. I get issues with lagging sounds, skipped frames, rainbow pixels etc

Better off using an external HDD, not optical discs. Far better $$$ per GB.
Cheers :D

Also be aware that STB players are not licensed to read record-able BDXL discs, and have no actual firmware support for doing so. I'm a bit surprised that they load/read at all
As mentioned, for the price of a few of these BDXL you can have a HDD that'll hold many movies. Also note that recordable BDXL will almost certainly degrade in a few years.

HI,

It seems the way to go then is a NAS with a ton of storage! I have a UGREEN one now with 40tb. I will work on that
