Planet Earth III 4K - Dump Files Submitted

Post by Necronar »

I've submitted 3 dump files (3 discs) for Planet Earth III 4K, released on Feb. 13th, 2024.

MKB20_v77_Planet_Earth_III_-_Disc_1_1058.tgz
MKB20_v77_Planet_Earth_III_-_Disc_2_B366.tgz
MKB20_v77_Planet_Earth_III_-_Disc_1_6DF8.tgz

Looks like the disc 3 is labeled incorrectly by the manufacturer? *_Disc_1_6DF8.tgz is actually disc 3. I've just double-checked and confirmed.

Just to confirm, my copy also incorrectly labels disk 3 as an additional disk 1.

Submitted mine also, and noted in the submission email that Disc 3 is labeled Disc 1 but with a different four letter code.

Thanks for all the MakeMKV team does!

MKB20_v77_Planet_Earth_III_-_Disc_1_1058.tgz
MKB20_v77_Planet_Earth_III_-_Disc_2_B366.tgz
MKB20_v77_Planet_Earth_III_-_Disc_1_6DF8.tgz (Actually Disc 3, mislabeled by the manufacturer as Disc 1 round 2)

Take a look at this, someone had success ripping Planet Earth III using this method:

I stumbled across this thread while I was preparing to rip Planet Earth III when my drive arrives. Hope it helps!

I tried following the instructions from that thread. While I could not download FindVUK for some reason, I did manage to find a copy of the latest output.

Google "FindVUK Online Database", download the keydb and extract the contents to C:\Users\<USERNAME>\.MakeMKV.

Can confirm Planet Earth III is ripping right now. Thanks for the tip!

I might try that method if this isn't updated and working in a day or two :)

I just downloaded that keydb from the FindVUK Online Database, and the first disk is now ripping.

Can confirm that UHD discs are backing up beautifully without any workarounds. Thanks as always to the MakeMKV team.
