flustered with uhd
flustered with uhd
I find I have more problems ripping 4k movies that I bought over the last several weeks then I ever did with standard DVD or Blu-ray discs. Using makemkv and keep getting hash errors or something like that. Sometimes I can try again in a few days and it'll work. Sometimes I can deselect different options. Occasionally I've resorted to DVDfab. Nothing so far on my latest attempt.
Re: flustered with uhd
UHDs are the most problematic discs in my experience too. UHDs have the highest data density and as such, they're the hardest to read.
Triple layer UHD discs hold 100GB of data on the same size disc as an audio CD, which holds about 700MB of data. Said another way, UHDs hold about 140x more data than a CD. Many regular blu-rays are dual layer, 50GB discs, meaning they have half the capacity of triple layer UHDs in the same physical space (a 120mm diameter disc).
