UHD MKV to MP4 not useable in Final Cut Pro

Could use an assist. I’m successfully able to rip 4K discs to my Mac using my Pioneer UHD drive. Then I use Shutter Encoder to rewrap the file to MP4 so I can play with it in Final Cut Pro X. Only issue is, it says the file is incompatible. Has anyone run into this issue?
