Perhaps somebody can recommend some good (FEL) movies where the DV really stands out and make a difference?

I don't now of chinoppo have a decent FEL support with mp4/ts movies. Nobody tested so far i think?

DV-MKV doesn't work on it.

DV-MKV doesn't work on it.

There's a link in RESET_9999's signature that breaks down DV support across several devices. Including the Oppo.

Not directly but if you have the original P7 RPU and you used the original scene cuts, you can copy the metadata levels from your P8 RPU with workflow 2-6.
I did it a couple of times for some static P7 movies like Avatar.

Are you able to transfer levels from a cmv4.0 rpu to a cmv2.9 rpu? Or is that not possible yet?

You can only copy levels that already exist in the original RPU. So you cannot add a cmv4.0 bloc to a cmv2.9 rpu.

DV P5 are getting harder and harder to find on BT sites these days.

so before buying a new TV, is there a need to check for CMv4 support? I've not seen a spec sheet that goes to that level of detail.

both the 1991 and 2015 have retail FEL DV from the bluray disc.

They don't make new TVs with older cmv2.9 chip anymore. So any TV after 2019 is most likely cmv4.0
