Disregarding red push, the 2019 Shield TV Pro can process FEL?
It will play it but the enhancement layer will be ignored.

Has the firetv cube gen 3 now surpassed the Shield as the best player for DV MKVs as it now supports bitstreaming? It has better DV support, right? (does it use the EL? or also just the RPUs, but better color accuracy?) It doesn't have gigabit ethernet, but the wifi 6E could conceptually compensate for that. I'm wondering what others think.

If I'm not mistaken the latest Cube does not process FEL. There seem to be some audio problems too. I haven't read the whole thread yet, but at AVSforum issues are mentioned about Dolby MAT not always being output and DTS-HD throughput not working.

Certainly, you just need to modify the script by setting the "Choose a muxer" option for tsmuxer.popup to "NO" and mkvtoolnix.popup to "YES". You can set any other ts options to "NO" as well.

There is nothing wrong with the Shield. It is still the best option.

I'm trying to hybrid a HDR10 DCP Rip and a DV RPU. Problem is, they're of by a few frames. Is it true I don't need to calculate the frame difference anymore and align the two? That's not quite clear to me.

Edit: The HDR10 DCP Rip is 1 frame behind the DV RPU. Do I need to duplicate or remove 1 frame?

I don't believe it's automated, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Guys, how can I mux more than two audio tracks in mp4 file with @RESET_9999 dovi_script tool?
I use 7-1-1 steps. But its limited only to two tracks

Hi, does anybody already have the new firmware (03.34.55) for C1 and if so, does it fix the L1 bug on x700?

Perhaps somebody knows.
But I've created a few movies with the dovi_scripts.
They are single track dual layer profile 8.

I have muxed them to m2ts for playback on the Shield.
The ones with DTS-MA play properly.
However the ones with Dolby TrueHD seem to only play audio, the picture is frozen.

Any ideas?

How did you do that? I thought P8 was a single layer format.

Regarding the audio issue, it can be helpful if you post the connection chain. It's a bit of a guess now.
I don't know the Shield. But because DTS-MA does work I'd wonder if the tv is the culprit here. Should your Shield connect to the tv directly, it may be possible the tv is able to handle DTS-MA (probably because of the dts core) but it can't handle a TrueHD stream. Should you have muxed TrueHD with embedded AC3 (as opposed to TrueHD only) possibly audio will work if you'd select that AC3-track for playback on the Shield.
