Has anyone done a P5 to BD remux for West Side Story? I am measuring the top and bottom L5 areas and I have checked it 5 different times. My eyes may be deceiving me, but I am not getting equal numbers for the top and bottom areas.

Measuring 280 for the top and 276 for the bottom. Am I losing it?

the dv web-dl is not cropped so it probably already has proper L5.
you only have to edit L5 when the web-dl is cropped.

I dont have this movie remux but if i look at the scene encode, it's 1608px so 276/276

you don't need tsmuxer for the Shield. Use Mkvtoolnix or makemkv

I appreciate your responding and all the time you've put into this thread and the tools! Much appreciated.

I am still a bit confused... Perhaps I'm misinterpreting things, but the version I have is cropped, meaning there are no black bars in the web-dl. The resolution is 3840x1606. I just demuxed it again and extracted the RPU, and when reading the RPU there is L5 section and no active area offsets. Perhaps I am missing something, or I got a bad release? Thanks again.

Ah, ok thanks! I will look around for a different version just to make things simpler. What happens if you don't edit the L5 active area? Will the black letterbox bars be off color or grey?

It could cause some visual defect as @Quietvoid explained recently.

Hi, I'm new here and I want to tell you that I really appreciate what you're doing here. I have a big problem with some BDMV files (few, but very important), Gladiator, Braveheart, Interstellar, Saving private Ryan. I run them on the UBP-X800M2 on USB and for information, the running time is 0.00.00, why? , can't scroll back and forth, why? I passed them through tsMuxeR (M2TS), for Dolby Vision and nothing, they behave the same, what can I do, they can be solved? Thanks for any suggestions.

so the command that im using in ffmpeg is not working....

it creates like a really small file and lots of errors in my cmd
this is my command based on the uhd to profile 8.1 for dual track dv files:

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i "F:\conversion\The.Godfather.1972.2160p.BluRay.HEVC.TrueHD.5.1-ESiR[IPT]\BDMV\STREAM\00005.m2ts" -ss 0 -t 120 -map 0:0 -c copy "F:\conversion\exit\BL.hevc"
the original:

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i path\to\the\file.m2ts -ss 0 -t 120 -map 0:0 -c copy path\to\BL.hevc
the cmd output

Do as @Gatorman suggested and use my script...
everything is automated, you don't have to mess with cmd-lines anymore:

does this also work for profile 8.1?
