Has the generation of new keys by request been automated in a similar way or is it still a case of sending the file to the email and waiting for it to be added to the hash update?

Quoting the program's author in https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 848#p65567
You can always download SDF.bin manually from https://www.makemkv.com/svq/sdf.bin and put it into MakeMKV data directory. On next launch MakeMKV will consume the file and shut up.
I've checked and that link does pull the latest SDF.BIN file that contains the hash keys.

Hi,

So far, I have added the hash keys manually. How do you have to set this under the preferences that he always makes automatic updates of Hashkeys?
You do not need to manually download keys anymore.

Go to Preferences and in the General tab make sure to check the box for "Allow contacting web server for updates". Once you have done this, insert the disc and start the back-up. MakeMKV will then automatically download the latest keys.
Hi

I have tried doing as you wrote, but it's not working for me. I get this

"MakeMKV v1.14.4 win(x64-release) started
Using direct disc access mode
Using LibreDrive mode (v05 id=96929CF53B04)
Saved AACS dump file as C:/Users/AIK/Desktop/KopiaMakeMKV/MKB21_v61_Fury_4AD2.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc"

The tick for updates is checked.

What can I do?

Start by submitting the file C:/Users/AIK/Desktop/KopiaMakeMKV/MKB21_v61_Fury_4AD2.tgz to svq@makemkv.com, because it is likely the particular disk you have has not been submitted for a key to be generated.

If you tried ripping them and MakeMKV said it couldn't find the key, it would have created an AACS dump file like shown above. That file needs to be sent to svq@makemkv.com, and the program's author will update the (automatically downloaded) hash key file.

Fury UHD and Patriot UHD are both AACS 2.1 and are not supported by MakeMKV.
Cheers :D

I had some problems getting a disc to rip. The new hashkeys didn't seem to be downloading. Eventually I realised that I didn't have wget in /usr/bin (I'm running NixOS so everything is weird) so it was silently failing to download them.

As soon as I fixed this everything worked perfectly. The silent failure makes this non-obvious.

Hope this helps someone.
