Jellyfin plays dolby vision mkv from my lg g4 internal app. Does anybody knows if it does properly? (all profiles?)
It won’t be better or worse than any other internal player/container, and once you get the webOS 2025 update, PLEX and the G4 native player should support DV MKV too.
In fact, all the TVs that are eligible for webOS 2025 should get DV MKV support.

PS: just ordered the kaleidescape. We will know soon enough how it compares to the UHD-BD quality

@RESET_9999

How is the HDR10 of the movie Flow (2024) ? Is it just SDR in a HDR container ?
Would love a decent DoVi RPU of that movie. Is that Generated T3 xml a good one?

That's cool - you got the Strato E I presume?
Do those boxes support playback of non- K sourced media? Like via USB for example? For testing what formats it actually supports?
I'm also interested what DV profile the K files use. 7? 8? Maybe even 5?

Yep, the cheapest model. No USB playback, this device is only good for accessing the Kscape store.
They offer DV P5, HDR10 and SDR with bitrate almost always higher than the bluray disc. (encoded straight from studio's master). P5(11.5bits) is no different than P7(12bit) on our 10bits TV.

it's a very expensive streaming service/box with lossless audio and 100mbps bitrate encodes. It also have many HDR/4K release not available on disc.

In each movie description, you can see the file size of the stream.

Is there a maintained list of titles Kscape has in 4K that are not available on UHD disc?

I don't think so but I went through the whole Canadian store and there were a few.

No official list, but here's what a couple of passes using Deep Research on ChatGPT got me, pretty sure this isn't exhaustive or 100% accurate, but close enough, some are SDR only though:

The following titles are available in true 4K on the Kaleidescape store, but have not been released on UHD Blu-ray in any region. Most have standard Blu-ray editions, but no physical UHD disc at this time.

A–C
Bob Trevino Likes It (2025, Lionsgate)
Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie (2024, Decal Releasing)

H–J
The Hangover Trilogy (2009–2013, Warner Bros.)
Heart Eyes (2024, AMC/Blumhouse)
Hell of a Summer (2025, Neon)
Hurry Up Tomorrow (2025, Studio71)
Jackpot! (2024, Amazon/MGM)
Juliet & Romeo (2025, Lionsgate UK)

L–Q
The Legend of Ochi (2025, A24)
On Swift Horses (2024, Neon)
The Quiet Ones (2024, Magnolia)

R–S
Rust (2024, Decal/NEON)
Salvable (2025, NEON/Lionsgate)
The Surfer (2024, Vertigo UK)

T
The Dead Don’t Hurt (2024, Signature UK)

Nice, perhaps it's a safe assumption, that if a title is available on another streaming platform in 4K (at least iTunes/MA), but not on UHD BD yet, it will probably be available on KS too.
