the movie migration is a CMV2.9 movie according your dovibat? how come?

Most of the movies are done in CMV4.0 but for the bluray disc releases they are converted from cmv4.0 to cmv2.9 which is why there is a workflow in dovi_scripts (2-3) that can bring the cmv4.0 back into the remux. If you have access to my google drive RPU collection, I already did all the work and most of the newer P7 remux now have cmv4.0 from web.

for those who are interested: the conversaton (1974) is a cmv4.0 movie. P7 MEL (according to dovibat of reset_9999)
yes and the trims they did brightens more than the master which is a stupid thing to do because a 400nits tv will get a brighter DV presentation than a 1000nits TV.

Why they are restoring back to cmv2.9? What is the advantage to mux to cmv4.0?

because cmv4.0 is how they were originally done. This is what the colorist saw on his grading monitor and the cmv2.9 is just a conversion. Theres no cmv4.0 bluray player so they dont deliver cmv4.0

Also, cmv2.9 has black crush issues but its not really visible with 1000nits REAL content.

There is very little chance it'll be useful for profile 7 fel. It's not impossible but extremely unlikely. I grabbed one just to play around with. I have a whole collection of useless streaming devices kicking around. Lol I don't hold out any hope that this will be a good device for local media.

So all movies are originally cmv4.0? Which workflow i need to use on your dovibat tool to convert remuxes to cmv4.0?

workflow 2-3 but you must have the matching web-dl and know how to resync a RPU.

Mastering display color primaries (bt2020 or P3), this information is present only in cmv4.0 Level 9.
FYI, I've added the info in the quick info(1) and DV plotter (6-3) (6-4) in the latest beta

Thanks

Can bloc CMv4.0 actually be transferred to any FEL movies? I noticed that you added Super Mario Bros (2023) movie to the red list, and in the green list you removed the mention that block CMv4.0 can be moved to BD-FEL

Got it.

Have you somehow modified your furiosa RPU from GDrive? Mine isn't exactly the same after transferring L3L6L9. Yours has duplicate frames/scene cuts at the end and different L6/MAXCLL etc data.

When the bluray is MEL, I dont transfer the levels to the P7 RPU. I just make a regular P5 to P8 hybrid straight from the WEB-DL.

Looking at Bikeriders in the Green area. Don't understand why. It seems worse than the original grade on the UHD. I know you labeled it "MDP mismatch" but I don't see it being in green.
