The following new UHD titles have been added to the public keydb: Leon
Unfortunately, the title cannot be deciphered. The key on my disc is different.

Attached is information about the new Steelbook UHD

Did you sync the public keydb within the last 15 minutes? yes
Have you verified that all submission links are accessible in incognito/private browsing? yes

Man! Since you are running Windows - just use KeyDB_helper.exe to update your KeyDB and don't post unneccesary files.
Hello, that was a very unfriendly response.

This thread is for helping each other. We should be nice and polite, especially considering that everyone's experience is different.

Yes, the key is up to date, and yes, it always preloads for me, and I've been posting a lot of dumps correctly for a long time.

Apparently, the problem lies elsewhere. Everything is updated. Nevertheless, MKV still displays "Backup Failed"!

If you get backup failed then it is not a decryption issue. More likely that you need to clean the disc.
Cheers :D

I usually replace the keys myself.

But the information that I should try again with Key Helper was helpful.

I found the problem.

I had only updated the German key.

The Leon key, however, was in the English database.

Thank you very much.

Leon is working.

All good. It was due to the German key database.
By backup error, I mean missing key.
This is what Make KV displays as a error before the copying process, and it aborts at the start.
It's not always translated correctly into English.

:-) All good. Leon is working. Thank you very much.

I see comments like yours repeated quite often and it is absolutely not true.

To be clear: The keys within the different keydb language variants are exactly the same. There is no need to download multiple languages of the keydb file. They all have the same keys.

The only difference between the two is the language of the disc title, not the disc keys. For example, the English keydb may have an entry like this:

Code: Select all

0x33992FFBCCFF2E87BEAEF55C421D780BB8BA0861 = YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE (YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE) | D | 2012-01-30 ...
whereas the German keydb will have a functionally equivalent entry like this:

Code: Select all

0x33992FFBCCFF2E87BEAEF55C421D780BB8BA0861 = YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE (MAN LEBT NUR ZWEIMAL) | D | 2012-01-30 ...
For your particular disc, the entry is actually identical between the English and German keydb files:

Code: Select all

0x9F553092157C4D13DF4A814FC1F7BF7CD68593E4 = LEON (LEON) | D | 2024-10-10...
The issue you observed was because you hadn't downloaded the latest keydb file before trying to decrypt your disc. If I post that a disc has been added to the keydb, it means it has just been added and you will need to sync or re-download the keydb before you'll see any benefit.

The keys within the different keydb language variants are exactly the same. There is no need to download multiple languages of the keydb file. They all have the same keys. Do not download multiple keydb languages thinking there will be any benefit from a decryption perspective

Thanks for the submissions Grimey and LawfulJoker, it is great to see new users following the submission template. Your discs have been added to the public keydb.

These new disc variants have also been added to the public keydb:

Code: Select all

Hey Vinthor22, whenever you see this line in the MakeMKV log it means that LibreDrive has freaked out and your disc dump file is not going to be useful:

Code: Select all

003306:0000 Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive
Power cycle your drive, shutdown your computer, delete the disc dump file and try again.

Well. Use KeyDB_helper to update your keys and don't do it manually. And while you have the program running check your recently unsupported disc with "Disc info" und it will show if the disc is supported now.

Edit. And by the way SamuriHL just released the new 1.0.2.1. version.

So... My second ASUS BW-16D1HT died last week.

Have now got a Verbatim 43888 (LG BU40N) that i have patched. I don't know if these dumps are valid from that platform, like the ASUS was.

MKB20_v82_Jarhead_3166.tgz
MKB_v82_Big_Bold_Beautiful_Journey,_A_A4D4.tgz

Feedback if they are valid or not are very welcome.
