It's DNS related. Try changing DNS servers. Happens all the time but the site is still up.

Re: Dump Submitted:MKB20_v77_The_wandering_earth_II_Disc1_CBF2(Issued in China)
I use google DNS servers and the site seems to be quite intermittent. One day I get it to work then it won't load for a few days. Then other times like right now, the site will load (on Edge) but the downloads don't work properly. If I click on the english KeyDB.cfg, instead of keydb_eng.zip, it downloads a file called fv_download.zip. I just checked that file and it does contain the keydb.cfg file. Strange that the zip file is named differently??
Cheers

That part is likely due to his updating of PHP on the back end. Nalor posted something about it on Doom9. The host does go down for a bit randomly from time to time but I've found that certain DNS servers aren't helpful. Google is one of the ones I find to not resolve it half the time. Cloudfare is another one that doesn't always work. I have a private adgaurd server so I have multiple DNS resolution services defined.

Frage woher bekomme ich den Dump? Hab hier einige 4ks die MKV nicht schafft. Aktuell Roundup 3.
Es erfolgt diese info:
MakeMKV v1.18.2 win(x64-release) gestartet
Using LibreDrive mode (v06.3 id=8AA951EFA8D1)
Disk in Ordner kopieren "D:/_Medien_IN/The Roundup No Way Out"
Backup fehlgeschlagen

FYI, I had to put the file in C:\Users\<Your Username>\AppData\Local\MakeMKV\ for it to work for mekeydb_helper wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 1:29 amFinally, you'll need to copy the extracted keydb.cfg into the MakeMKV data directory. The default locations for each platform are:

Hey natethelen, thanks for mentioning that alternative location. Just to be clear, did you happen to set that location manually? Or did you do anything unconventional when installing MakeMKV?natethelen wrote: ↑Tue Oct 14, 2025 9:40 pmFYI, I had to put the file in C:\Users\<Your Username>\AppData\Local\MakeMKV\ for it to work for me
I should probably check whether recent updates to MakeMKV or Windows may be using that alternative folder as the default for new users.
Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
- LG/Buffalo/Asus drives only (Pioneer drives are not supported)
- Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
- If your disc dump is under 3MB, you need to manually include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder

Now you know why I read that value from the registry in my tool. I don't like guessing. Lol

Most likely not a DNS problem but updating of PHP. I tried a few hours ago and received a failure message. Now it worked without an issue.SamuriHL wrote: ↑Sun Sep 14, 2025 10:54 amThat part is likely due to his updating of PHP on the back end. Nalor posted something about it on Doom9. I disagree. If it were a PHP issue it'd be consistent for everyone. I've not had any issues at all. DNS issues happen quite a bit, and the server he's running the site on is not well maintained because it's a free account.

Re: Dump Submitted:MKB20_v77_The_wandering_earth_II_Disc1_CBF2(Issued in China)
I followed the steps listed above for windows and didn't notice any change. I have many discs that will not rip. I have 7 different drives, all new and have tried the failed disc in all of them. What am I doing wrong? How can I make to program see and use the keydb.cfg file?keydb_helper wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 1:29 amYou need to download and configure the public key database file. The public keydb is a community driven project which MakeMKV can utilise as an alternative key source.BaiDuYunPan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 11:46 pm...
MakeMKV v1.17.7 win(x64-release) started
Backing up disc into folder "E:/Video/backup/The wandering earth II Disc1"
Saved AACS dump file as C:\Users\BaiDuYunPan/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v77_The_wandering_earth_II_Disc1_CBF2.tgz
LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
Backup failed
I can't seem to rip, please what is wrong, thank you very much
You can download the keydb from here: http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net/ (Direct link).
After the download has finished, you'll have a file named keydb_eng.zip. Extract/decompress this zip file and you'll get the keydb.cfg file.
If you do not unzip the downloaded zip file MakeMKV will not be able to use it. MakeMKV will not try to parse the keydb_eng.zip file. It will only read the extracted keydb.cfg
Finally, you'll need to copy the extracted keydb.cfg into the MakeMKV data directory. The default locations for each platform are:
Windows: C:\Users\<Your Username>\.MakeMKV\
Linux: /home/<Your Username>/.MakeMKV/
macOS: /Users/<Your Username>/.MakeMKV/ (I might be wrong about this one)
To account for case-sensitive filesystems, such as most Linux options and potentially macOS, you may need to rename the keydb.cfg file to KEYDB.cfg. This shouldn't be required on Windows.
