Can't rip UHD discs on my new drive

Hi everyone. I just bought an Archgon Premium Aluminum External USB 3.0 UHD 4K Blu-Ray Writer Super Drive for PC and Mac, but attached hereto is a screenshot of this message which appears whenever I attempt to rip a UHD disc. It says, "ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT PRESENT". "Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive." "LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted." Did I buy the wrong kind of drive? Is it a Mac problem? Do I need to install something? Please help me. You need to flash it to enable UHD reading and libredrive. If you have Windows 10 or 11 64 bit, you can use the SDFTool flasher UI to flash the drive to LG BU40N 1.03-MK then flash it again to BU40N 1.00.

Explanation: The first flash removes the encrypted firmware. The second flash puts the drive on BU40N 1.00 firmware which is the most compatible firmware version for Mac/Linux.

If you can't use Windows to flash the drive, you can use the terminal in Mac. See here for the commands: viewtopic.php?p=74718#p74718

Thanks for that. I'm following the steps in this link: "viewtopic.php?p=74718#p74718" where it talks about Mac/linux commands to flash. But I'm running into a few walls with steps 4 and 7. Those involves using Terminal, which keeps saying "permission denied". I'm using a Mac, so I can't sdftool flasher app, which is for Windows. I'm also looking for a YouTube video for how to do this for the Mac, but I can't seem to find one. Could someone please provide me with a detailed step-by-step process on how to flash my drive, preferably with visual aids like screenshots? Thanks again.

You might need to grant full disk access to Terminal.

I granted full disk access to Terminal, but I'm having trouble with step 4, which says, "copy sdf.bin and the firmware file extracted from the all you need firmware pack into /tmp folder." Where is the /tmp folder and how exactly do you copy the .bin and firmware files into it? Can I do it on Finder or does it have to be done in Terminal? Attached hereto is a screenshot of what I did in Terminal? Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks in advance.

I think that means put the files in to a temporary folder somewhere. Anywhere.
