MakeMKV doesn't seem to be able to open Alien Romulus 4k. I am fairly new to using MakeMKV. What does "Dump Submitted" mean?

"Dump submitted" means that the TGZ file generated by MakeMKV has been sent to svq@makemkv.com for processing.

How do I know the TGZ file has been processed? Do I have to do anything or does MakeMKV update itself automatically?

Generally speaking, when the file has been processed, the update will be automatically picked up by your copy of the program.

There are things that can prevent that, though. If MakeMKV cannot contact its server to pick up the file, you'll see an error message about that, although it's easy to miss.

I have also submitted

MKB20_v77_Alien-_Romulus_7590.tgz

I think it is different to the one already submitted.

How long does this process normally take? Am I right to assume that only one person has to submit the TGZ file or should I do it as well?

If your dump file has a different name than what people have already submitted, then you should submit your dump file as well.

If your dump file is the exact same name, then you don't need to submit your dump, but it doesn't hurt.

A full record for some UHD variant of Alien: Romulus has been added to the public keydb. I'm not sure which MakeMKV disc dumps it might assist with decrypting. It has the libaacs disc ID 0x2FCACD2FC8D6EFD7A9C75448C30F96F453348043
