Halloween 3 & 4 UHD

Post by erich_7719 »

I would like to start with, I enjoy MakeMKV and think it is very intuitive with how it works.

My current issue is I have the first 10 Halloween movies, they are all "collectors edition". With Halloween 3 and 4, I get the error "failed to open disk". This error happens while MakeMKV is verifying the .tbl files. When attempting to create a back up, I get the error "Backup failed." and the parsing file shows "/AACS/ContentHash002.tbl". the log shows

Code: Select all

The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
DEBUG: Code 0 at *>y@ce*3@Z%S'=:>:213132721
DEBUG: Code 0 at @YI7z$*p]MM^0)W:c?q:121273319
DEBUG: Code 0 at DWAOuPA.R{tp?h~qZO</:121265338
Backup failed
but no dump is being created, or I am not seeing it.

My drive information is:

Could I ask for some help, either, finding or creating the dump, so I can submit it for review?

I would like to thank you in advance for any assistance you may give.

I'm pretty sure the dumps end up in your MakeMKV data directory. That location is specified in MakeMKV's preferences on the General tab.

I'm trying to back up Halloween 3 and it's telling me the device key is unknown. I have MakeMKV set to online mode, doesn't help evidently. Do I also need to do a dump and send the dump info? I'm new to this just started using this program.

Most likely, yes. MakeMKV should create the dump files automatically by default.

The hashed keys section of the UHD FAQ has lots of good info.
