Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
@RESET_9999 how do I rip a Profile 7 FEL Dolby Vision UHD disc that contains 3 or 4 different videos in it (tv series)? I wish to make separate BluRay folders for each episode in tsmuxer. Thanks

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
good question, and I'm not sure.
I guess Makemkv or bdinfo can list all the mpls files (episodes order) and then you can use tsmuxer, as usual, to make a bdmv folder for each episode.
Sorry for my English.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I used your script to list the mpls files, it basically lists them in the correct order (one episode after the other). Then I imported every playlist separately into tsmuxer and made separate BluRay folders for each episode. Works like a charm! Thank you!RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 12:26 pmgood question, and I'm not sure.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Does anybody have any clever solutions when using a USB HDD on the Sony x800m2?
It seems like a pain to unplug the hard drive, connect to a PC and update the movies, and then reconnect it, etc.
Are there any wifi hard drives or anything to make this process easier and not require unplugging the drive?
The main reason I'm interested in this is for the BDMV support so I don't need to manually enable force subtitles?

@deadchip suggested this. Not sure if he tried.sofakng wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 2:43 pmDoes anybody have any clever solutions when using a USB HDD on the Sony x800m2?

I would get one that is USB 3.0 or C though. (if your pc support it)

Thanks... I was looking for something more automated (or remotely controlled/switched via network).
Anyways, I still have another week to return my x800m2 to Amazon. I'm learning towards returning it... I know there aren't really any alternatives for FEL playback (besides Oppo) though, but x800m2 has a few issues:

- Dolby Vision doesn't automatically trigger
- Ethernet is only 100 Mbps
- Doesn't support IP network control (for my Control4 system)
- TS/M2TS requires manual forced subtitles and no chapters
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I wouldn’t expect anything better to be released anytime soon, as the focus is basically shifting to streaming platforms.
The manual DV switching “hassle” on the X700/x800m2 is overrated. It takes 3 clicks on the remote, not really that hard at all.
Your only alternative (automatic DV switching and the ability to play DV via USB) is basically Oppo UDP-203. I had one several years ago and sold it. You can’t find Oppo new anymore.
I would stick to the X800m2, it’s a great player for the money. Regarding it’s LAN speed, someone mentioned the possibility of using a Gigabit USB to LAN adapter, but I can’t recall which brand and model.

I heard it is very unstable when working with hard drive, so I no longer want to test it.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 2:59 pm@deadchip suggested this. Not sure if he tried.sofakng wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 2:43 pmDoes anybody have any clever solutions when using a USB HDD on the Sony x800m2?

Besides, I arranged stuff so that the x700 (now has my usb 3.0 hub plugged in), the hard drive, and the pc's front usb ports are right next to each other and within my reach. So the unplugging/replugging is not that much less convenient compared to pressing a button.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Interesting, I just checked Oppo setting it to Player-led: all the L2 trims are working, but only L1 lower contrast (last one) resulted in visible change on the G2.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 4:40 pmit depends on which player you use. On the x700/x800m2/Shield the L1 and L2 trims are not working at all in LLDV.

yep, so far, all the players that have the option in the menu to select LLDV have no issue. Oppo / Dune and Zidoo player.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I have an Oppo clone and have been concerned with the recent bug reports. It is almost time for me to buy a new TV and I was thinking about trying to track down a CX to get a set that doesn't suffer from the issues recently reported.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 10:57 amyep, so far, all the players that have the option in the menu to select LLDV have no issue. Am I correct in my understanding, that I will be OK purchasing a more recently released set, if I set my Oppo to player led?

Well I'm not sure about the CX, we have conflicting reports:

set your Oppo to TV-LED.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Thanks very much. I misunderstood the previous posts. I see now that it says, any player with the LLDV switch are not impacted. I thought it was necessary to enable LLDV as a workaround. Understood and thanks very much for your help.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 8:31 pmWell I'm not sure about the CX, we have conflicting reports:

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I think I misunderstood too. LLDV (Player-Led) should work on all TVs because the player is basically decoding DoVi into HDR10, right?
Are you saying that the Oppo-203 (or clone) will work in TV-Led mode with LG C1?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
of course, it will work. But we are not talking about the L1 bug with cmv 2.9 hdmi input if that's what you think.
@Chros and I were talking about another bug with the x700/x800m2/shield when connected to an LLDV TV (player-led).
so many DV bugs that it's hard to follow
