Thanks again so much for the help.

Any advice regarding the Oppo 203 clone (M2910) instead of the X800M2?

To my understanding, I need to convert the P7 to a P5 or P8, and convert the TrueHD audio to something like EAC3. I am simply unsure how to get there using the Dovi_tools RESET_9999 put together.
They are command line tools.
See recommendation CX or newer at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... jymVo/edit
I think almost no tv’s internal player is capable of DV MKV playback.
Do the P7->P8.1 conversion with any tool you like.
I wouldn't recommend converting trueHD, use the ac3 core in the file instead, it’s converted by the filmmaker and keeps director’s intention.

Also, I see these terms fairly often, but I have no clue what ST-DL and DT-DL mean.
ST-DL refers to single track dual layer FEL file and DT-DL to dual track dual layer FEL.
Dolby Vision is very complicated, you may want to read more post to learn more of this.

Sorry to jump in like this.

I am very very new here and I just started using the tools generously provided by RESET_9999. I just wanted to know what is the workflow I should use to convert a MKV, dual layer P7 with TrueHD 7.1 audio, to something that can run natively of my LG C1 (or through Plex to my LG C1), with both Dolby Vision and Atmos. An example would be spider-man NWH.
first, edit the bat file with notepad and set tsmuxer.popup=YES and mkvtoolnix.popup=NO
then: 1 - 7 - 2 - 2

I've never used the Oppo clone so I will let others comment.

The nice thing about the X800M2 is that in a pinch you can always throw the disc in and play if you needed to. Say you just received a movie and wanted to watch before ripping.

Maybe update the Playback-Devices list?
It's been confirmed Apple TV and iOS devices can play BL+RPU with some conversion.
Or not, if that is considered conflicting to Dolby standards and rules

Apple TV can only play Dolby Vision P5 properly.

Infuse used to trigger Dolby Vision on TVs for some other profiles but it was only ever using the HDR10 base layer. They fixed it awhile back to stop triggering Dolby Vision on the display for those profiles.

One little question guys. I have a movie in FULLUHD with dolby vision that comes on 2 discs, and I want to create a single disc with a profile 8, how is this usually done, I create two profiles 8 with the Dovi_Scripts tool as if they were different movies and then join them, or one and then I create profile 8?
I have previously joined movies that came in 2 discs with HDR, and I also do my profiles 8 with the Dovi_Scripts tool, but until now I had not come across this case of joining a movie from 2 discs to 1 with dolby vision.
Thank you very much and greetings

I've seen confirmation for the ipad but not for the appleTV yet.

yes, I think you can use tsmuxer or mkvtoolnix to join the two parts together

I'm wondering, using Sony A80J Internal Player ( via USB ) does not play mp4 profile 8 DV files converted by ffmpeg to mp4 ( it includes DV metadata ) though player says "File can't be opened"
Are you sure ffmpeg can configure the DV box correctly?
Im using ffmpeg 4.4, it seems it ignores DV when generating mp4.
Maybe try mp4muxer for proper DV mp4 generation?
Most TV internal player don't support DV in MKV.
Yes, upon checking mediainfo it shows Dolby Vision metadata but the file fails to play, same happened on a Hisense U7G so looks like ffmpeg breaks video with DV. TSMuxer with ts worked perfectly.

Wait what, I thought Manixx2020beyound has tested it on ATV. Maybe I interpret it wrong?
But thanks any way.

Hum,
We’ll it plays doblyvision on my pc all trims as well & triggers pc dv.
Are the colors correct is a good question doe.
But I’ll test it on my appletv but I would say it should play on appletv.

Yes it plays on appletv & all the l/trims
And u can upload that to your apple tv library
Stream it from Mac m1 to Apple TV
Stream it form pc to Apple TV works

I don't use infuse on my iOS device. The native player (quicktime?) through File APP works just fine for me.
Does ATV have some file sharing app that can play video using the internal player through SMB?

If it is not too much trouble, could you please show me what command you are using to generate DV mp4 with ffmpeg?
I would very much like to give it a try.
Im currently using ffmpeg dovi_tool mp4muxer and mp4box to generate DV mp4. The process is troublesome.
It will save a lot of effort, If ffmpeg alone can do it.
Many thanks.

I don't have apple tv but I have rechecked these files, I think they can still be downloaded.

Converted p8.1 sample:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing
Anyone can make this with the following command:
ffmpeg -i p81_cmv29_tests.mkv -c copy cmv29.hevc
mp4muxer -i cmv29.hevc --dv-profile 5 --dvh1flag 0 -o cmv29.mp4
They can directly play by iPhone in safari and have dolby vision.
Im not sure about ATV, but l2 trim works in cmv29 on iOS devices.
Only saturation in l2 works in cmv40 since cmv40 has l8 for replacement, according to quietvoid.
